For years I have had a very difficult time with losing weight that I have gained in the past 7 years. I hate to say it but I have tried everything from trying to not eat at all, to doing those new “fad” diets and even the diet pills. None to say the least has worked and yes I even tried Weight Watchers which did work but I couldn’t afford to go to the meetings or do it online so I stopped. It’s sometimes hard for me to stay motivated but I found a new book and journal that has worked well for me and is easy. It’s called “The Mayo Clinic Diet: Eat Well. Enjoy Life. Lose Weight.” and it’s awesome! I also have a journal to along with the book and my progress and it seems to be helping out. It not about trying to starve yourself or take pills to help you lose it but it’s about changing you eating habits, enjoying your life and working out to help jumpstart your metabolism. I have this past week had a hard time doing that but I know that it will come easier the longer that I do it. Plus with this book you don’t have to go to a weekly meeting and you don’t have to pay out to another weight loss company. I have even thought for years of trying out some other unnamed diet companies but to me they cost more than I have.
This book has shown me that it’s about eating the right foods and how to stay active. It’s also taught me that I can still eat some of the same foods I’m used to eating but in moderations. And yes I will have to drink more water and less soda. I love the journal too because not only am I able to track what I’ve eaten for the day and what I’ve done as far as working out but it’s also got a place in there to write my weekly meals and what I plan on doing as far as activities. I love this book and journal and I hope that within the next several months I can be halfway to my weight loss progress and I’m hoping that all 60-70lbs will be gone by the time I turn 30!!! I want to be in shape and fit by the time I turn 30 in March 2011! I highly recommend this book and definitely suggest you purchase the journal to go along with it. You too will find your inner strength to help fight the battle of obesity just as I am trying to right now. It’s a long road but well worth it to me!
