With Easter coming up next weekend I thought it would be the perfect time to write about a great movie and an old classic at that. Yes the movie happens to be “Here Comes Peter Cottontail” and it just so happens to be Olivia’s favorite new Easter Movie now. Olivia loved watching this DVD and didn’t budge until the movie was over and then wanted to play it again. I even caught her doing the Bunny Hop to it while the theme song was playing. Oh what I would do to be a child again! But she even went upstairs and got her bunny ears she got last year or the year before and wore them while watching the movie. This movie though is not a new one but it’s the one that you see played on most of the major tv networks during Easter Weekend or on Easter itself. I used to watch this movie all the time when I was younger and remember singing the theme song as well. What a great tradition it is to watch this movie as a family and since we have it now on DVD we are able to watch it anytime we want.

This year Olivia has recently decided to go from wearing tennis shoes all the time to “girly” shoes and I don’t mind that at all. Well thanks to Eleven Collection for sending me a pair of the Mira Shoes to review. Olivia saw these shoes and just had to have them. They actually match a lot of her clothes that she wears now and well she absolutely refuses to take them off on the weekends. I have noticed that with these shoes they are more comfortable for Olivia to wear them (hence all the time) and that they fit her wide feet better. We have always had a difficult time finding shoes for Olivia that will fit her feet and are comfortable yet fashionable for her to wear. Other than some of the other brands out there Eleven Collection has become one of our favorite brands to purchase!

The Mira shoes that we were sent are brown suede, and have a very cute design on it and of course has pink straps which is super cute! I love the colors brown and pink together anyways and so does my daughter. Well the Eleven Collection Shoes are perfect for any child who wears a size 9 to 2. They have a lot of cute new shoe collections that I love and they even have shoes for the boys too for those of you who have little boys. Their fall/winter collection is super cute as well! And of course you can still get your favorite styles that you like too there.

Since having a 5 year old trying to find cups that are safe for her and safe for traveling are hard to come by living in Eastern NC. Well I was lucky enough to be able to try out the Safe Sippy 2 by Kid Basix. The Safe Sippy 2 is an upgrade from the Safe Sippy that has been known to be an excellent product. The Safe Sippy 2 is really cool because not only does it work as a sippy cup but it also comes with a straw attachment for the older kids. I really like how this cup is also stainless steel and also is BPA Free too! That’s really a good thing for me to say is important to me as well. The drinks stay cool for a lot longer if you put the cup into the fridge. Yesterday I took Olivia out to Raleigh to go shopping and we had the Safe Sippy 2 in the fridge before leaving. Now normally the sippy cup would be warm in no time with the heat index we have here in August and also the drink would no longer be cold and would not be appealing to Olivia. But I have to say that the drink was still cold for a few hours and that was so nice too to not have to purchase a new drink while out and about. Another great thing that we have found that Olivia loves is the straw attachment. She has had that on that sippy for the past week and has not changed it over. She told me that she loves feeling like she has a big girl cup and since she’s a big girl it’s awesome!

I highly recommend this cup to all parents out there with infants (older) and toddlers/preschoolers. My daughter loves her Safe Sippy 2 and we plan on keeping it around for when she outgrows it my niece Keali can use it. It’s truly an amazing product that I’m even willing to purchase for other parents to give as gifts for Christmas and also to them for baby shower gifts. It’s a product that grows with your child and that’s what I love about it!

Eco.Kid was nice enough to send me a nice full size sample of their Prevent Shampoo and Nourish Conditioner. Eco.Kid is an Eco Friendly company that has products that are organic and safe to use on children. They are all tear free which is awesome for my daughter Olivia who claims that a lot of the shampoo out there hurts her eyes. Their products smell amazing and I was even told one day by one of her teachers at daycare that they love the scent of her hair. I had to tell them where I got it from and they said they were going to have to try it out too for their kids. Eco.Kid is definitely Kid friendly which a lot of organic companies out there are not. Their prices are not too steep either which is a blessing in disguise because I am one who does not like to spend a lot on hair care or other hygiene products. Another thing that I have fallen in love with the shampoo and conditioner is that it does not make her hair oily which means that I can go a couple of days without washing her hair (unless she gets some kind of food in it).

I highly recommend Eco.Kid because of their kid-friendly products and how they are all Hypo-Allergenic which is another big plus in my eyes since we have a lot of reactions to different products out there already. The prices are just right and it doesn’t take very long to wait for your order. This is a product that I will continue to purchase for the near future for sure.

I have to say that this is one of the best inventions out there for kids to play with and even adults to play and ride on. The day that we received it Olivia had to take it for a test drive and so did mommy. I love how the Plasma Car will hold up to 220 lbs for riding on smooth surfaces such as a gym floor or even the hardwood floors in the house. It’s kind of like the concept of the Roller Racer which was very popular in the late 80’s to early 90’s only it’s in a car format. Plus the fact that it can be used indoors and outdoors is even better. Olivia has played with the Plasma Car so much that she has asked for another one for her friends so that when they come over they can each have one and play with it.

The Plasma Car is so much fun too for adults. My mom is thinking of taking the Plasma Car with her when she goes to camp this summer for the kids and teenagers to use. She’s thinking of a few games they can play with and even thinking about getting a second one for the kids to maybe have a race with. I’m sure that is going to be great to watch. Too bad I’m not going to the church camp this year. Maybe next year though. Anyways, the Plasma Car requires no batteries which in my own opinion is great because it’s less money that I have to fork out and also that it’s powered on your childs energy. So the more energy they have the long they’ll go. Olivia has plenty of energy so I allow her to ride it on the main road when we go for walks and by the time we’re done with the walk she’s exhausted. Sweet. Plasma Car isn’t that expensive either..well not like a power wheels or anything. The price for one is around $70 and plus you can get it in a few different colors. We got the green color which is great. It’s one of Olivia’s few favorite colors she likes. I highly recommend getting a plasma car. It would honestly make a great gift to give to a child for their birthday, or for Christmas or as a just because I love you gift. You can probably come up with a million different things to think of for getting them one. Plus just think it’s a play toy for you as well.

I am always looking for DVD’s that has learning and will be fun to watch. I was selected to review a product called It’s Hip Hop Baby DVD. As soon as I received it I allowed Olivia to watch it. Just as soon as the music started playing on the dvd Olivia began to dance. It has educational things like counting and learning your ABC’s; as well as it has fun and games. I have to say that it has stimulating songs that will help the children learn and have a good time. This dvd has become one of Olivia’s favorite dvd’s to watch because it just makes her want to get up and dance. Plus the theme song of the dvd is really catchy and after viewing the movie a couple of times you too will think it’s catchy.

It’s Hip Hop Baby! has 4 different Movies and 1 CD that will allow you child to grow up learning many different things. We received the movie All Your Child’s Favorites and trust me it is her favorite!!! As a mother I highly recommend this dvd and the other products that It’s Hip Hop Baby! has to offer. They can be purchased from Amazon.com for $7.99 each. I will be looking at getting more dvd’s for Olivia and even investing in the CD as well. Olivia will be hopping from now on.

I am such a cold nature person. I’m not too sure if it’s because I’m from Maryland or not but I’m always complaining to everyone that I’m always cold. Hahaha. I kind of think it’s funny because when I was with my ex he would always make sure that there was some kind of blanket or throw on the sofa for me because while he was hot I was cold. From the moment that I received my The Slanket I have used it every day. The owner and founder/inventor of The Slanket, Gary sent me the Ruby Wine color Slanket and I love it. From the moment that I received it this has become my favorite blanket to use while snuggled up on the couch or in the chair. I even wear it when I play Guitar Hero which most would not be able to stay warm and cozy while playing this game but with the sleeves in the blanket I am able to stay wrapped up and warm and still be able to play very well. The Slanket has also become Olivia’s favorite blanket to wrap up with as well. She is like me and can have a very cold streak run through her and then can be hot natured like her daddy. Well The Slanket is a wonderful product because it not only keeps you warm but it’s functional too because you can still be able to do things while wearing it. My dad calls it the Monk Look and he does look like one when he’s wearing it but it keeps us warm and that’s all that matters.

I highly recommend this product to those of you who want to have a blanket to keep you warm while you are snuggled with someone on the couch or in a chair or would like to have something that will keep you warm while you are traveling. I am going to make sure that when I travel to Maryland this coming up weekend that I will have it in the car for Olivia to wrap up in. She won’t be complaining to me anymore with having this while we are traveling. I am actually thinking of purchasing a Slanket Kids for her birthday coming up in April. Plus I’m going to purchase some of The Slankets for other family members who complain about being cold all the time too. Christmas is going to be great! Another great thing to think about is that The Slanket will actually donate a portion of the proceeds to different organizations as well.
